Denver-based The Quizno’s Master LLC is one of five companies inducted into the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Hall of Fame on May 21.

The ceremony will take place at this year’s SBA Expo May 19-21 in Orlando, Fla. The expo celebrates National Small Business Week.

The honorees are companies that started small, but with SBA help grew and prospered, according to the administration.

A chain of sandwhich restaurants, the Quizno’s company started with one location and now has 2,500 restaurants in more than a dozen countries. Richard Schaden, The Quizno’s Master chairman, CEO and President, is scheduled to accept the hall-of-fame award.

“What few people realize is that these well-established businesses started out small and received help at varying points along the way from the U.S. Small Business Administration.” SBA Administrator Hector Baretto said in a statement.

Other companies entering the hall of fame include potato chip maker Herr Foods, Inc. of Nottingham, Penn.; Santa Ana, Calif.-based Fabrica International, which makes floor coverings; information technology business Dimensions International of Alexandria, Va.; and Portland, Ore.-based Columbia Sportswear.
