Managing Director
Mr. Imbach joined LLCP as a Director in August 2008 and is a dedicated member of the Firm's Deep Value investment team. He is responsible for the Fund's origination of investment opportunities, investment due diligence, portfolio management and portfolio exits.
Prior to joining the Firm, he was a Partner at Empyrean Capital Partners, LP ("ECP") for approximately three years. At ECP, a $1.5 billion multi-strategy investment management firm, Mr. Imbach focused on special situation, credit-oriented investments including stressed and distressed obligations, private debt securities and other total return opportunities involving bank debt, high yield bonds and public equities. Mr. Imbach was directly responsible for originating, managing and successfully exiting approximately $365 million of opportunistic investments at all levels of the capital structure.
Prior to joining ECP, Mr. Imbach spent 10 years at Canyon Capital Advisors, LLC ("CCA"), a multi-billion dollar, credit-focused, alternative investment management firm. At CCA, he was responsible for a multi-hundred million dollar portfolio of event-driven, special situation stressed and distressed debt and equity investments and proprietary private debt financings. Mr. Imbach also managed several hundred million dollars of performing leveraged loans and high yield bonds for CCA's collateralized loan and collateralized bond obligation vehicles.
Prior to joining CCA, Mr. Imbach spent a total of approximately seven years at Citicorp in Loan Syndications, Leveraged Capital and Corporate Banking and approximately one year at Drexel Burnham Lambert, Inc., in Corporate Finance.
Mr. Imbach received a BS in Business from the University of Southern California (Cum Laude) and earned an MBA from the Harvard Business School (Second Year Honors).
