Mr. Schauer, a Director of the Firm, joined Levine Leichtman Capital
Partners in June 2006 and is a dedicated member of the firm’s Deep Value investment team. He participates in all legal aspects relating to the origination of investment opportunities, investment due diligence and portfolio exits.
Prior to joining the firm, he was counsel in the financial restructuring and insolvency group of the international law firm of White & Case, LLP, and prior to that, an associate in the Commerce & Finance department of the law firm of Brobeck Phleger & Harrison, LLP. Throughout his career, Mr. Schauer has focused on representing creditors’ committees, secured, unsecured, and subordinated creditors, as well as debtors and equity holders in financially distressed situations. Mr. Schauer has significant experience in all matters relating to consensual restructurings and bankruptcy cases (including negotiating a plan or reorganization, DIP financing, section 363 sales and numerous contested matters and adversary proceedings).
Mr. Schauer attended the University of San Diego, receiving a B.A. in Philosophy and received his juris doctorate, cum laude, from the University of California Hastings College of the Law in 1995.
